7 Months...........mmmhh.....

Jevin _______________________________Deuce, this is priceless... (he's rubbing his gums)

What a Big girl...she is determined to be independent!

So, the triplets are 7 months old now. I have been thinking a lot lately about how I will miss the baby soon. In the last few weeks, since my last post, we have had teething, Slobber, snot, fever, excessive #2, schooching by one, rocking that could be some baby yoga move for all I know by the other, and full blown crawling from the third. Then add to that, psychotic fits of da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da.......... I have briefly heard the da da here and there. For the first few days, the triplets refused to say it in my presence. I was convinced it was to prevent from hurting my feelings. It gives me comfort knowing they have no idea what the word means yet.

So, the rocking on all 4's started with Deuce. It turns out, Mia is our first crawler. It is so crazy! She is super tiny and it is almost funny looking to see her crawling. It is as if they are practicing these things when everyone else in the house goes to sleep. Yesterday...no crawling...TODAY...crawling. From one day to the next they have learned a new skill! Deuce army crawls...Jevin just rocks back and forth. He can turn in circles, kinda pivot on his belly but he puts forth no more energy to move from his current location. Whatever he can reach in a 360 degree radius of his belly button is all he cares for. Mia on the other hand is EVERYWHERE!

We went through a few days of everyone trading low grade fevers and lots of fussing! A week later Deuce is our first little man with a tooth. Very cool huh! Mia and Jevin will be soon to follow. It is such craziness, but so cool.
The boys' hair is getting out of control if you couldn't tell from the pics. Actually, these pics do their hair justice. Bath days...it's totally wild. Love their little curls!!! Mia is still borderline bald, grow already!!
Well stay tuned...my plan is to do a Jevin blog here by the end of the week, I have a before and after blog I have been intending to do for months...everyone MUST check out Deuce's tooth...so we will see how it works out...hopefully I will accomplish this by the middle of next week. Don't hold me to it though...I'm a busy woman!

From Me To You:

Take a good look! This is a rare moment...Deuce actually sticking his fingers in someone elses mouth...Usually everyone's fingers go in his...

Jevin thinks it's funny too!! .......................................Deuce & Mia

Deuce & Mia again........................................................What do ya know? The princess smiles!

Pandemics, milestones, and hypothetical gluttony...

Ok, so yes, a super long time since my last post! I have to tell you, just when I think my plate is full, I get stuck with a second serving! Not only do I have 6 month old triplets, I have a full time job, attend college (online), and I now have to become licensed to service real estate accounts, which consists of logging a minimum of 20 hours in an online course and passing a federal exam, if I want to keep my full time job that is. THEN, as if this isn't enough, my class in college is statistics. So, I was hopeful, just make it through statistics and my life will be easier...uh NO! Now I have statistics II. You have got to be kidding me!! All the while, there is a pandemic running ramped in the Thompson household! Yeah...I promise for everyone that enjoys reading this blog, I love doing the blog and really Really REALLY intend to keep up to date better...its just not working out that way right now. Be patient, I will get it together soon...maybe after Stats II.

I mentioned the pandemic. Literally, it is like a miniature pandemic. I started with Deuce a month or so ago. I thought we had made it through that one without Mia and Jevin contracting the heavy wheezing. And maybe we did, but about two weeks ago Jevin starts wheezing. Mia has a cough. Ok, no big deal...I can do this! Hook Jevin up with a few nebulizer treatments a few times a day or when needed. No temperatures, so we're still ok right? Right. Within a few days Mia and Jevin are waking up with dried snot on every stinking inch of their precious little faces. Wonderful! Runny noses and buggers to add to Jevin's wheezing & Mia's sad little cough. A few days later...a temperature!!!! My initial thought, "This better NOT be R.S.V. or I will be sending a chain of hate mail to my insurance company!" So off to Dr. Reyes'. Like Deuce, R.S.V. is negative, but surprise!! Jevin has bronchiolitis AND an ear infection with a virus that has R.S.V. like symptoms. Mia has the R.S.V. wanna be virus, but all else is well. So once again, off to the pharmacy for obscene amounts of medication. Brookshire’s should give us a customer loyalty card specifically for the pharmacy. So as if this isn't enough...the very next day Deuce has a flippin' runny nose. So now, we have breathing treatments every 3 hours for Jevin, amoxicillin twice a day, and the three of them taking Pediatex every 3 hours. Like seriously, I already have a hard enough time remembering when it is time for them to eat again, or if I had changed their pamper the last time I fed them. I visualized a vicious circle of illness for who know's how long.  I thought, "Watch us have to deal with this until they are 2..."
.....so please understand, I love doing the blog, I just can't always get to it as often as I would like.

Now on to the cool stuff! Yes, I did say 6 month old triplets. So right now, I am ok with saying 6th month old triplets, but I am having a little tiny bit of denial about saying 7 month old triplets...I am really ticked at father time right about now. He is stealing my babies from me! 6 months ok...7 months...I don't know. Just say it...say it out loud...there is a big difference between 6 and 7 months right!? Well, they are just doing so awesome developmentally. I am simply amazed every day. The boys are about 4 hours from sitting all by themselves. Both of them have been up on their knees and elbows rocking, so crawling is right around the corner. Mia, I caught her up on all 4's yesterday, and I got excited and scared her a tad so she belly flopped and I haven't seen her do it since. All of them do well holding their bottles. The boys need a little bit more practice to get it down. They mostly hold it with their knuckles instead of open handed. Mia and sitting? Yeah, probably not...we are convinced she will walk before she can sit. She would just rather stand up. She is also just becoming a different little baby. She does still think she is the boss of everyone, and if you don't do what she wants you to do, when she wants you to do it, she won't hesitate to let you know, but she has definitely calmed down quite a bit. She smiles more and likes it. She is more goo-goo-ga-ga'y. Whew!...She is a prefect example of why I hoped I wouldn't have 3 girls, but I wouldn't trade her for the world. They do awesome with tummy time and can entertain them selves for quite a while. They love their little (boring) toys. Jevin loves to hear himself "talk". It is cute for now, but I total picture myself telling him one day at 3 or 5 or something, "Just STOP talking, just be quite." He is also my best giggler to date. I love the baby giggle! Deuce giggles pretty well too, and Mia...not really a giggle, more like a scream. Can't wait to hear her little giggle... Deuce has found his feet, and with his obsesive thumb sucking has commenced to stretching the toe of his sock to his mouth while he sucks his thumb.

So, I think that is most of what I can remember over the last month.  I will have pictures posted Sunday...good night!

Save the Babies!!!

Ok, so not about my babies at all really.  Just a quick post because I was looking at a friend of mine's blog and she had a little widget supporting March of Dimes, so I posted it here on my page. Super cool too!  Those are her babies on MY widget!! If you are not aware of what March of Dimes does for little tiny TINY babies, check out March of Dimes web site.  They are a great organization that works to ensure that parents like Brett and Heather can hug their little babies every single day.  They work to save the lives of preemie babies.  While Marcus and I are incredibly blessed, so many parents are not as lucky as we have been, and we quite easily could have experienced the many of heart aches many parents experience with giving birth before a baby can survive without the help of medical technology.  My company participates in raising money for March of Dimes every March through May, and it is something that my staff and I are get excited about.  So, outside of the company, help my friend Heather meet her goal!  While I don't have all  that many followers, anything you can give will be of great help.  Also, check out the Cox Quad's Blog.  Can you beleive she lives about 5 houses down from us??? DON'T MOVE TO OUR TOWN...or do it at your own risk, I don't care!!!

"My name is Mia..."

I have been wanting to do this post for a month or so now, and since I go back to work tomorrow, I better do it today, or it might be another month. As I have been going through pics when I do post to the blog, Mia always has the funniest faces. I am posting a few of the pictures that make me smile inside and out.  Lately she has been doing this funny bodily function sound with her mouth and she can do it for a long time.  It is the funniest thing.  She can keep herself so occupied with just the noise she makes with her lips.  She will probably be our little cute tom-boy girl that makes fart sounds with her arm pits and has belching contests with all the little boys. She is wonderfully crazy. Love love love her!

Can anyone figure out what is different about Miss Mia?

We are 5 months Old!!!

Well, it is nap time in the Thompson house, and I thought I would take advantage of the uninterrupted time to post a quick blog and a few pics. I should probably be doing homework, but ... well, just but... Can you believe the babies are almost 1/2 a year old!?!? I sure can't. Time is passing so quickly. It makes you sit and think about how they will be in high school before we know it.

Several new things, the babies started cereal and stage 1 foods. That was exciting. Mia the tiny diva eats like crazy! As soon as the spoon starts to get to her mouth, her little lips are already chomping away. Most of what is on the spoon ends up on her face. She will also let you know you are moving too slow. Jevin did well in the beginning. It took a few bites before he decided he would cooperate. Now he does pretty good. Deuce on the other hand...he would gag with every bite. He was not having it! I don't quite understand. I know pureed peaches are not the tastiest, but if you have tasted Enfamil...water even tastes better! So, after about a week Deuce started getting the hang of it. Still puts up a little fuss every now and again, but they are all munching down.

They are all rolling belly-to-back and back-to-belly. They are reaching, grabbing, and passing toys from hand to hand pretty well. Jevin can sit pretty steady while propping himself with his hands. It won't be long before he can do it all by himself. Mia has almost perfected holding her own bottle. She can pull it out and put it back, but she still will forget and drop it. The boys are getting there. Deuce more so than Jevin, but it will come.

Bedtime has become a breeze. For so long we would feed them around 7:30 or 8:00 PM then rock each one to sleep. One Sunday I told Marcus, "You know, as long as we keep doing this, we will keep doing this forever." So mid February we started putting them down after their bottle. A little drowsy, but not always. The first couple of nights, they had some trouble with it. Deuce not so much since he had found his thumb, and Jevin seemed to struggle with it the most, but after about 3 nights, very minimal fussing. Now days, no fussing. It is in the top 5 things that have happened over the last 12 months!
#1 Finding out we were having "A" baby.
#2 Having 3 babies (their arrival).
#3 Sleeping though the night.
#4 Going to sleepy-by all by themselves!

...and I could though making it to 34 weeks and 4 days with no complications in there somewhere, but it's a toss up between sleeping though the night.

Exactly 365 days ago, we had our first sono and found out we were having 3 little babies!! Crazy, Crazy, Crazy!!!

Deuce, The Thumb Sucker

So I have been collecting these cute little photos of my middle man Deuce. I swear he is psychotic about his thumb! He sucks it while drinking a bottle. He sucks his thumb through a burp cloth. If his thumb grazes his little mouth he sucks it. He sucks his brother's thumb (who by the way just can't figure it out for himself...). He would probably suck your thumb if you let him. I don't know what has gotten into him. Although I was a little weary of him being a thumb sucker, it is do dang cute! It is also a HUGE help in pacifying him. Some mornings I go in to get him from his crib 2 or 3 times, and by the time I get to his room he has put himself back to sleep. Crazy little Deuce man...

Photo Shopped?

This is what I expected to get the whole session...Still cute though.

How 'bout them "enhancements"?

Well, we did family pictures this last week...Good news is the babies did fairly well...the photographer, not so well. We went to the photo studio at Super Walmart expecting to get some little photo package like we would get in grade school, you know like the 1-8x10, 4-5x7, and 196-wallets for $38. Really we didn't expect the session to be all that productive with three 4 1/2 month old's so we didn't plan to pay a lot. The longer I sit and analyze the experience, the more I go through the photos we did get, the more I sit and feel we were ripped off. Hmmmm. Yes...I said Super Walmart, and maybe my expectations were a little too high...but I have to say, not even worth $38. For the price we did pay we could have went somewhere much more professional, and with photogs willing to have a little more patients with getting a good shot. Then the effects...are you kidding me! After our photog in training, exceptional customer service, and professionalism, three other germ infested, bacteria carrying, unsupervised, and poorly disciplined animals show up hovering dangerously close to the triplets. Anyway. I have posted a few...judge for yourself.

Kids are doing well. Deuce seems to be getting well. We did have a Dr. Appointment scheduled for the 12th, but the Dr's office called and said to not worry about it. He would check Deuces's ears on Wednesday at our well baby check up. Plus we had like 6 feet of snow when we woke up Friday. He still has some wheezing and is doing 2 or so breathing treatments on a daily basis, but he appears to be improving. Thank goodness neither of the other 2 have come down with it as of yet. Sure don't want to have to keep refilling the nebulizer meds...I have no idea what our insurance is up to, but they have lost their minds...changing things up... Well enjoy the pics...till later.

Poor Deuce!

So yes, similar to their pacifiers when they were 2 weeks old, the mask is about as big as his face.

See, you would never know the poor little guy whistled with every breath.

~~~Written 2/2/10~~~We had to take Deuce into the doctor yesterday. He has had a cough for a few days and started wheezing Saturday. Oddly enough you would never know he was sick if he didn't have the cough and wheezing. He has been a happy, smiley boy. Then Sunday when I was giving him a bath and getting him dressed, I found a red bump under his little baby armpit about the size of a pea. GREAT! So after a few hours of playing phone tag with Dr. Reyes' nurse, I finally texted Dr. Reyes and he responds saying he is concerned it might be RSV. So, I worry all day, and stew over the fact our insurance decided out little babies didn't need Synagis shots. Oh Lord! If little Deuce man has RSV!!!! But good news is his RSV test was negative. Turns out he has Bronchiolitis. :( So he was given a nebulizer and some meds. He was given a breathing treatment at the doctor's office and his wheezing was completely gone. He has to do the breathing treatment every 4 hours or so as needed for cough and wheezing. Surprisingly enough he doesn't too much mind the little mask, although he doesn't have the patients to really sit through the whole thing and began to squirm a bit at the end. We caught a picture of him holding his own mask...what a big boy...he doesn't know what he is doing, but Marcus taught him how to hold his pacifier in his mouth with his hands so I am sure that is what he relates it to. The bump under his arm appears to be a hemangionoma (probably spelled that WRONG!) and it will go away by 9 months. They will look at it again at our next appointment.
~~~Written 2/4/10~~~Well, we took Deuce in yesterday for a follow up to see how he was doing. His bronchiolitis has improve some, but we found out he know has an ear infection. Nice!!! Despite all his ailments, he is still a happy laid back little man. Not fussy what so ever. What a Tough little guy! So back to the doctor in 10 days to make sure the antibiotics have cured his ear infection. Then we have our well baby visit the 17th. Whew, a month full of doctor visits!

Hi! Remember me?

The triplets in their authentic Japanese baby kimonos courtesy of Sumitomo. Thank you Tomita-San, Tsuji-San, Yo-Yo-San, Shinji-San, and anyone else from Sumitomo who participated.

Love this pic! Mia's face is priceless

Mia's I am too sexy for myself pose.

The 4 month old photo

Love their little serious faces!

Hi everyone! It's me...Kim...Trio Momma...Too many dang babies Momma...whatever...

Remember me? Yeah...Not sure I remember myself sometimes. Today probably isn't the best day for me to blog, it wasn't one of the best I have had, but I owe ya'll some pics. I started to post earlier today around oohhh...3ish. NOPE! Got Momma baby drama! So now, it is approximately 9:40 PM, and it took me 30 minutes to decide I would go ahead and post. I know if I don't do it today, I probably won't do it until next weekend. Deuce and Mia had a day today. I tell you! First part of the day went pretty pretty good. About 2:00...natural disaster in the Thompson household. You know its one of those days when the baby that has been screaming her face off for what seems like EVER, stops crying to watch you cry. Uggh!!! I hate to admit that, but I am sure Mom's with one baby have momentary melt downs every now and again.

So lets see...new stuff...Everyone is rolling belly to back now. Deuce started about a week ago so needless to say he rolls himself over in the middle of the night and wakes himself 2 or 3 times. (Yesssssss, I do put them to sleep on their bellies despite allllll the instructions not to. Sorry, I just beleive too much stuff is passed off on SIDS, and that is all I will say. I don't want to debate belly sleeping, just my personal opinion/preference. Not to say that nurses and doctors are wrong, or parents that do follow the rules are either, it has just worked for me this way. Sorry) So, Deuce fusses. I thought him being a thumb sucker was going to change my life...uhh NO. Jevin has been trying really hard for a while to suck his thumb, but he tucks it like the letter "n" in sign language. I told Marcus, it doesn't matter if he finds his thumb or not at this point, as soon as he learn how to roll belly to back, it's all over anyway. Well he rolls belly to back as of Saturday. : What else??? They coo and talk like crazy, they are almost giggling for real real now. They love TV. Mia loves to be naked. They slobber on everything and everyone. Mia might hold her own bottle very soon. I don't want to jump the gun, but she seems to know how to hold it, pull it out, put it back...her hands just look a little funny and she moves them around too much. Every now and then she just spontaneously lets go as if she has no idea she is holding the bottle. I don't know... Umm. Tummy time is going good. They all do well. We have a couple of bumbo seats they sit in quite a bit. Sometimes in the morning I will sit Mia in the bumbo and put her on the bathroom counter while I am getting ready. She loves to look at herself.

Just stuff

Hello all. Sorry, I don't have pics to post...well I could post pics, but I am going to opt out this time. For one, I am extremely tired and don't feel like waiting for "blogger" to think. For some reason, It takes forever to post pics the last few times. Just thought I would let everyone know, things are moving right along in triplet land.

The babies are getting more fun by the day. Mia seems to be calming her attitude a bit. She is much more smiley now days, as are the boys. They seem to smile most when you are slightly perturbed...4 in the morning, 10 at night (when you just want to go to sleep), and so on. The boys have started trying to suck their fingers off. Deuce is a full fledged thumb sucker now. You could look at this in a good and bad way. I would prefer that they didn't become thumb suckers, but at the same time it means he might be able to start soothing himself at 2:30am. I have pictures by the way...I will post them as soon as I can get time or should I say strength. As most have read already, after 3 months of musical pacifiers, diaper assembly lines, and many many hours of baby talk, I have returned to work. Time is precious...I see the babies all of 3-4 waking hours a day. Out of these 3-4 hours, we sometimes get a full hour of tag team fussing, but sometimes not. They sometimes decide they have all of the sudden forgotten how to sleep through the night like they have been the last 2 weeks or so. Then again it is not sleeping sleeping through the night. They go to bed between 8 and 9pm and usually wake (if we are really lucky) at about 5 AM.ish, maybe 6ish. They do occasionally wake in the night, but not for feeding. But everything is going well. Everyday is something new, cute, and exciting. The boys are about a week away from needing size 2 diapers. Jevin might skip size 2 all together (he is soooo chunky/heavy!) Mia will be moving to size 1 once we run out of newborn (Finally growing out of something). Can you believe she is nearly 4 months old and still wearing NB diapers? Heck, she probably has a good 2 weeks left before she is grown out of 0-3mo cloths. Jevin cries when he finishes a 5oz bottle and has been drinking 6-7oz easily. I don't know what happened to 5oz, but he completely skipped it. He quite possibly might be considered obese at this point. They coo up a storm...the "experts" say they should giggle soon. I can't wait! Overall, we are rolling with the punches. They are much fun and incredibly precious (except @ 2-3am...so NOT precious! You see, I am way over the up all night thing. Especially since I know they are capable of sleeping 7-9 hours straight.)

Happy New Year!

This is the progression of photos...we are all doing... ok. Jevin is starting to have a small melt down.

Jevin's still having a hard time, Mia decides she isn't too happy and punches Deuce in the face...Yes, I should have done a bigger box, but I underestimated the size of my little people...

Yep...Picture taking time is over...

The many faces of Mia...

No New Years pics just yet. I am just getting to post the Christmas pictures we took a week ago. I came to the conclusion any pictures I want with all three of them will probably be dysfunctional. I have posted the best I could get. The pics worked out well with just the boys, then later in the evening, Mia decided she would let me get some pics of her.

So....I went back to work on the 21st. That was a hard hard day. I did well, but everyone wanted to keep asking if it was hard to leave the babies. I would have to hold back. I didn't want to cry, but I made it through the day pretty well. After 2 weeks it is still hard to leave sometimes. I miss them like crazy during the day. I just hope they are all still awake when I get home in the evenings so I can hold them, or feed them, or rock them, or talk to them, or really so they can see me... I have this weird fear they will forget who I am...they were just starting to love me. I have always been very business focused, career focused, financially focused, whatever you want to call it. I have never, never, ever, never, ever saw my self has a stay at home mom, but now that I have them, I could totally be the stay at home soccer mom with the minivan, and sometimes, very much so, wish I was. At the same time it is nice to have other interaction in my life.
So everything is well. The kids are changing so much. I left for work Monday, Mia was the only baby cooing and talking up a storm, I come home and Jevin is talking too. Except Jevin's talking is a cross between crying and talking. He kinda whines when he talks. It is so cute! and the shape his little mouth forms when he is making little sounds is so so so adorable. Makes me giggle every time. Deuce, I know he can coo, but he has decided he will not talk to Mommy. Mia is finally starting to grow out of things besides preemie clothes (the last thing she grew out of). She might be moving to 3-6months soon. The boys, on the other hand have been in 3-6mo for a while and it seems they might be in 6-9mo by the end of January possibly. They have all found their hands. They are constantly grasping one hand with the other and trying to suck their fingers off. Also cute! And the best news of all, for the last 3 nights they have ALL slept through the night. They go down about 9pm and sleep until 5:30-6:30. How they all decided to do this on the exact same night is beyond me...Well actually, Jevin probably could have been sleeping through the night for longer, but out of fear of being up all night, every night, I would wake them all to eat each time one of them would wake up. Maybe one or two nights before this miracle happened, Jevin slept through the night. And one or two of them might fuss in the middle of the night, but if we just give them their pacifier, they go back to sleep. Waking to walk to the other room for 1 1/2 minutes is MUCH better then waking for an hour to change, feed, and rock back to sleep. Lets see...what else? I think that's about it for new stuff...

For the old stuff...as I have mentioned previously, I still have a hard time grasping the reality of my life. Tonight, I was rocking Miss Mia. She was incredibly angelic in her slumber. Her little hand would occasionally rub back and forth just below my shoulder as if she was caressing me, so happy I am her mommy. Her little face so beautiful and precious. Looking at her, I once again just thought to myself, at one time I wasn't sure when we would have one little person to hold, let alone three. I told Marcus, I sometimes think those around me are much more in touch with the reality of my life with children then I am. I still, after 3 months, find myself thinking, "Wow! I get to keep these cool little people!" They bring you so many emotions. Of course, don't think it is all roses everyday, all day. There are moments, even days where you feel, at any moment, you might loose your sanity, but something they do to you, makes you forget all about the craziness they bring sometimes. I am telling one of my kids at least every other day, "Don't smile at me...I am trying to be mad at you!" So they smile and then what? Ugh....
Well all...that's it for now. Happy New Year, hope everyone's Holidays were filled with Joy.
